C. John Miller, Founder, has been involved in the oil and gas industry for over 50 years. In 1954, John, along with his brother Gene Miller, started Miller Brothers in Allegan, Michigan. Miller Brothers was one of the most active participants in developing the Niagaran Reef Trend in Michigan. In 1986, John and his son, Michael J. Miller, formed Miller Energy, maintaining a primary interest in oil and gas exploration and production. In 1991, John, along with other select industry partners, formed Globex Energy, an international oil and gas exploration company located in Houston, TX. John has served on various committees and in leadership positions in the oil and gas industry, including the Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPAA), National Petroleum Council, American Wildcatters, and Michigan Oil & Gas Association (MOGA). John has now retired and is no longer active in the business.

Michael J. Miller, CEO/President, began his career in the oil and gas industry upon graduation from Western Michigan University in 1978 with Miller Brothers Oil Corporation. In 1981 he was promoted to Vice President of Land and Operations where he served until he and his father, John Miller, formed Miller Energy in 1986. Currently Mike serves as President of MEC, a firm that has built its national reputation via the development of domestic oil and gas properties. James R. Carl, CFO, has been involved in the oil and gas business since 1980 and subsequently assumed the role of CFO of MEI in 1986. Jim also served as CFO for Globex from 1991-2001. Robert Dunn, Exploration Manager, joined MEI in 2009. Prior to MEI, Bob held positions at Constellation Energy Group as the Geological Manager; Richardson Barr & Co. as VP and Geological Advisor; and Nomeco Oil and Gas Co. as VP of Exploration. At Constellation Bob oversaw the geosciences phase of a $1.5 billion acquisition program. At Nomeco Oil & Gas Co. Bob was responsible for a technical team and managed a capital budget of $135 million. While there Bob was an integral member of a management team that vastly increased the reserve base from less then 20 million barrels in 1984 to over 123 million barrels by 1997. Luke Miller, Business Development, joined MEI in 2008, adding a fourth generation to the family business. Luke holds a BA in Business Management from Cornerstone University and was previously employed by Atlas Energy Resources where he worked in the Land Department acquiring leases in the Marcellus Shale. Drew Martin, Financial Analyst and Business Development, joined MEC as a fourth generation family member in 2011 with experience in the banking industry.  Drew is a graduate of Cornerstone University and also holds a law degree from Cooley Law School.  Drew can be reached at
