C. John Miller, Founder, was involved in the oil and gas industry for over 50 years. Now deceased, John provided an excellent foundation and vision for Miller Energy.  In 1954, John, along with his brother Gene Miller, started Miller Brothers in Allegan, Michigan. Miller Brothers was one of the most active participants in developing the Niagaran Reef Trend in Michigan. In 1986, John and his son, Michael J. Miller, formed Miller Energy, maintaining a primary interest in oil and gas exploration and production. In 1991, John, along with other select industry partners, formed Globex Energy, an international oil and gas exploration company located in Houston, TX. John served on various committees and in leadership positions in the oil and gas industry, including IPAA (Independent Petroleum Association of America), National Petroleum Council, American Wildcatters, and MOGA (Michigan Oil & Gas Association).

Michael J. Miller, CEO/President, began his career in the oil and gas industry upon graduation from Western Michigan University in 1978 with Miller Brothers Oil Corporation. In 1981 he was promoted to Vice President of Land and Operations where he served until he and his father, John Miller, formed Miller Energy in 1986. Currently Mike serves as CEO of MEC, a firm that has built its national reputation via the development of domestic oil and gas properties. Luke Miller, Business Development, joined MEC in 2008, adding a fourth generation to the family business. Luke holds a BA in Business Management from Cornerstone University and was previously employed by Atlas Energy Resources where he worked in the Land Department acquiring leases in the Marcellus Shale. Luke currently serves as a board member of MOGA, MOGPEF (Michigan Oil & Gas Producers Education Foundation), and MAPL (Michigan Association of Professional Landmen) as well as participating as a Roustabout member of IPAA.  Luke can be reached at:

Drew Martin, Finance, joined MEC as a fourth generation family member in 2011 with experience in the banking industry.  Drew is a graduate of Cornerstone University and also holds a law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School.  Actively involved in MOGA and MOGPEF, he serves as a board member of EEM (Energy Education for Michigan), and holds membership in the IPAA.  Drew can be reached at
